Kathleen Rose, Committee Member

Special Needs/Teacher & Activities coordinator for special needs community both youth and adults

Kathleen’s specialty is working with students and adults with intellectual disabilities, program design, and education. She loves seeing her students grow, no matter the size of the incremental step. Her focus is on strengthening and developing one’s abilities.

She is currently teaching Work Awareness and Transition in Northern Virginia, and coaching high school basketball, AAU basketball, and Special Olympics basketball. Kathleen also works in the children’s ministry at her church. Previously, she led an adult day program at McLean Bible Church, Vienna, VA for 11 years in their Adults with Disabilities Day Program (A.D.D.P.).

Kathleen holds a BS in Education in Health and Physical Education and an MS in Education in Special Education focused on Severe Disabilities, both from George Mason University. She also holds an MA in Executive Leadership from Liberty University. She is a licensed educator in health, physical education, and special education.

Kathleen lives in Virginia with an adorable Cocker Spaniel that never slows down.
